We are currently reviewing Metro’s draft Active Transportation Strategic Plan (ATSP) and we encourage our partners to do the same. Metro is looking for input over the next several weeks before the plan is goes before the Board of Directors in April for their consideration of adoption.
Written comments on the draft plan are due March 25th to Tham Nguyen (nguyentha@metro.net). Investing in Place and the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition will be drafting a comment letter in the next few weeks that we will share with partners.

It is timely to see this released now as a tool to inform the potential 2016 Ballot Measure expenditure plan. Metro’s effort to identify the funding need for sidewalks, bicycle lanes, first/last mile access to transit, safe routes to school and more for Los Angeles County will ensure that the Metro Board of Directors and key stakeholders have clear funding benchmarks to aim for as the allocation of funds from the potential ballot measure are decided in the next several months.
And ever wondered how people get to the bus or rail in Los Angeles County? Wonder no more – Metro’s ATSP is filled with great infographics like the one below.
