Advocacy Meeting to Restore Bus Service

Join partners like Active SGV, ACT-LA, Los Angeles Forward, Los Angeles Walks, Move LA, NRDC, People for Mobility Justice, SAJE, Streets for All and Investing in Place for an advocacy meeting on Tuesday January 26th at 10am via zoom to discuss fully funding buses in Los Angeles, and honoring the commitment of NextGen.

RSVP Here.

Metro finances are looking better than Metro had publicly predicted, due to better-than-anticipated sales tax revenues. This week, the Metro board Finance Committee voted to approve a mid-year budget adjustment that adds back $765 million to the remaining months of the fiscal year. Of that, $741 million, Metro staff are proposing it should go to capital projects. And staff are recommending just $58.6 million would be funneled toward operations, but would not actually increase bus or rail service.

The revised mid-year budget item (with no additional bus service) still needs final approval from the full board at its meeting next Thursday, January 28 at 10am. Join us in advocating for restoring and improving bus service immediately. For more information see Streetsblog Los Angeles post on it:
